How the Program Works
For just pennies per item, the coffee farmers and their families benefit more than you can imagine.
Coffee Merchants "tag" certain items in their cafe
These items include a contribution to the Coffee Trust that supports coffee farmers and their families in Guatemala.
The coffee merchant decides the amount of the contribution per item and whether the contribution is added to the original price or included in the original price.
As the Merchant you decide.
Merchants can increase the price of the item to cover the cost of their contribution or take the difference out of the retail price themselves rather than pass it onto the consumer. Any combination of passing the price on or paying it themselves is acceptable.
Contributions to The Coffee Trust
Contributions from Every Bean Counts are tax-deductible and made directly to The Coffee Trust, a 501c3 non-profit. Each participant receives an acknowledgement from The Coffee Trust and content for their social media featuring the various projects toward which their contributions are supporting.
Step 1
Sign Up
This process will have you fill out a basic form to collect your information. Once that is complete you will be asked to tag which items in your store you’d like to have included with your contribution.
For example, please select the Menu item if you serve coffee by the cup
If you are a coffee roaster or sell whole bean or ground coffee select the Coffee Bean Category, your selected coffee bean(s) and then the pledge as much as you like as a contribution
If you would like to choose any other item besides a beverage or a package of coffee, please select the Miscellaneous Category, the specific item(s) and the amount of your contribution.
These are just a few ways you can share a portion of the sale with the coffee farmer. Remember Every Bean Counts and the pennies add up.
Step 2
Access your account
Once you receive a login link from us after you have submitted your pledge.
You then create your account. This will then provide you with an easy way to manage all the donations you make, where you will have your own “portal” (your own Calculation Page) to calculate your contribution. Also you will have a record of all your past contributipns.
You will also receive introductory social media posts that you can share with your customers. Sharing the work of the Coffee Trust. It is important to keep every one engaged making important connections over coffee every day.
Step 3
Making a Donation is easy
Depending on the frequency you choose to support The Coffee Trust
e.g. (monthly or quarterly)
We send out a reminder email. All you need to do is login to your account and when you make a donation. You do this by filling in the quantity of selected items sold and hit “total” to see your total contribution. We do the calculations. Once you make the donation we send you a receipt for your tax records. Everything is saved in your personal account.

For Coffee Roasters
We have options where a roaster can pledge for example 5 cents for every pound of green coffee that you buy. Sharing this commitment for farmers with your wholesale customers will leave a lasting impression.
For Coffee Shops
We can supply in store posters where you can share with your customers how their purchase directly helps. For example (5 or 10 cents) for selected beverages off your store menu is pledged through Every Bean Counts. 100% of you contribution goes to the Coffee Trust.
By displaying our poster, you can communicate this pledge, raising awareness about where coffee comes from. Making a lasting connection between your customer and the farmer.
Online Coffee Shops
Even an Online Coffee Roaster can participate. Your can get creative on how to support the farmer with the help of your customers.
